Position Overview:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Investments, or as that role may designate, the successful candidate will fill the full-time position of Senior Analyst, Investments located at our Toronto Head Office. This position requires you to work from the Head Office five (5) days a week.
The primary responsibility is to support investment decision-making and acquisition due diligence for multi-residential real estate assets.

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility is to support investment decision-making and acquisition due diligence for multi-residential real estate assets.
Essential Duties:
- Participate in full 'deal cycle' including preliminary projections, underwriting, due diligence, financing and documentation;
- Prepare financial underwriting and backup information for property acquisitions that are consistent with the objectives of the investment mandate of our clients;
- Assist with the evaluation of new investment opportunities and strategies for growth including preparing investment recommendations and proposals for senior management;
- Assist to arrange mortgage applications for acquisitions of properties;
- Analyze financing strategies at both the property and portfolio level;
- Work closely with other departments on acquisitions, financing, and dispositions;
- Research economic conditions and market trends which can be applied towards recommendations on investments;
- Synthesize data across departments for use in underwriting;
- Assist senior staff to manage property and financial risks (i.e. title, legal, environmental, indemnities, etc.); and
- Assist in identifying growth opportunities (i.e. new developments and acquisitions).
Skills and Qualifications:
- University degree, preferably commerce/business related or enrolled in CFA or MBA program
- Three (3) years of real estate investment experience, multi-residential favoured;
- A general background in real estate underwriting/financial modeling, using Excel;
- Familiarity with Yardi is an asset;
- Ability to understand real estate investing and the appraisal processes;
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including negotiation and persuasion; at ease with formal and informal presentations;
- Be able to multi-task while working with multiple deadlines;
- Team player with an understanding of group dynamics;
- Prepared to take initiative and proactively complete assigned tasks and responsibilities; and
- Keen judgement and an ability to provide practical solutions to complex financial and transactional challenges.
