Why this role is important?

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Pharmacy Insights & Analytics, the incumbent is responsible develop models, analyses and insights around initiatives impacting the retail pharmacy sector. They are also responsible for identifying opportunities to drive pharmacy's performance. The ideal candidate is someone with an analytical mindset and a proven ability to quickly grasp an unstructured situation, drive insights from both quantitative and qualitative information available, and present results and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders.

What you will do:
  • Support financial and analytical modeling related to initiatives impacting SDM and LCL pharmacy
  • Perform analyses on key drivers of overall and/or store-specific pharmacy performance
  • Collaborate with team and key stakeholder groups (e.g., Rx Procurement, Health & Wellness, Digital Pharmacy etc.) with validating business inputs
  • Provide insights and recommendations on potential opportunities to drive pharmacy performance through analysis and modeling
  • Synthesize large amounts of complex data from multiple sources, extrapolate appropriate information and develop concise and easy to understand explanations of business results, opportunities, and recommendations for senior level stakeholders
  • Develop complex models to assess enterprise total pharmacy market performance, category trends and market share and to assist in strategic business decision making
  • Advance departmental capabilities and team efficiency and performance through:
    • enhancing the reporting systems and software capabilities
  • Collaborates closely with internal departments and subject matter experts to proactively identify & resolve issues, identify opportunities and process improvements

What you will need:
  • Two or more years of business analytics, finance or planning experience, ideally in the retail pharmacy industry
  • Post-secondary education equivalent to a university degree in business, accounting, economics, engineering, analytics, health sciences or equivalent program
  • Strong analytical skills - the ability to leverage data, experience, and industry knowledge to provide actionable insights and recommendations, as well as to identify financial/business implications to senior management
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Clear and concise communication and presentation skills
  • High level of initiative to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
  • Advanced computer skills to produce reports, documents, and presentations, as required:
    • Expert knowledge MS Office software (including Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Programming experience (e.g., VBA macro, Python, SQL),
    • Knowledge of relevant database and Business Intelligence software applications (including Teradata, Big Query, Power BI, looker studio and MicroStrategy), and/or experience with statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, etc.) would be an asset
  • Ability to set and prioritize work amid competing demands
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
