Reporting to the Senior Manager, PI Operational Planning & Analysis, the Senior Analyst, PI Operational Planning & Analysis is responsible for providing key internal stakeholders with value-added, business performance insights and financial projections to assist in their decision-making process for managing the day-to-day and long-term business needs of the Personal Insurance business lines.

The analytical support provided by this role enables Senior Leaders within Personal Insurance (PI) to understand the impact of their decisions. Supporting the annual business planning process and quarterly reforecasts will be a critical part of the role. This role is also responsible for supporting divisional performance reporting and providing financial insights to support senior leaders' business decision-makings.

What can you expect in this role?
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators and provide insights on a periodic basis (weekly, monthly / quarterly) to key internal stakeholders in PI
  • Maintain financial modeling templates that support the development of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts for PI. Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures on an ongoing basis and make enhancements to the modeling templates to improve precision and efficiency.
  • Enter forecasts data into the Finance's planning system and perform reconciliation work to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial forecasts.
  • Support the preparation of reports or presentations required for the business planning and quarterly reforecasts cycle.
  • Preparing timely and accurate divisional business performance reporting for both internal (Board of Directors, senior management) and external (investors, regulators and auditors) stakeholders
  • Review financial operating results to identify key trends, variances, and measure financial results against budget and forecasts.
  • Support the implementation of special projects and continuous improvements initiatives to strengthen the business planning cycle in Personal Insurance.
  • Preparing ad-hoc analysis and reports on a timely manner to all queries from stakeholders, as required

What do you bring to the role?
  • University degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Actuarial, Math/Statistics or related program
  • 3-5 years of relevant, full-time experience financial management reporting and business performance analysis
  • Superior written and verbal communication/presentation skills and ability to interact with senior executives and other cross divisional leaders in the organization
  • Recognized accounting, insurance, or actuarial designation an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and data modelling, as well as PowerPoint is required
  • Experience with quantitative software applications including SQL would be an asset
  • Experience with P&C insurance would be an asset
  • Proven record of analytical expertise and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team or independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and consistently demonstrates an ability to take initiative on any issue

Salary Range: $58,100 - $106,900
