Position Overview:

CSA is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Analyst, Research and GRC-Assurance to join our Research & Development (R&D) team. This role is integral to the execution of CSA's research initiatives and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) programs. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams and a global community of over 15,000 researchers to develop cybersecurity best practices and frameworks. This role ensures the strategic alignment, execution, and quality of CSA research while fostering engagement with CSA members and industry stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research Development

• Oversee and manage CSA's Research Working Groups, ensuring alignment with research priorities and industry needs.
• Conduct in-depth research on emerging technologies, security frameworks, and industry trends to inform research initiatives.
• Develop high-quality research materials, including technical reports, frameworks, tools, and publications.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, meeting notes, and action items to facilitate efficient research execution.
• Support the development and maintenance of CSA's GRC-Assurance programs, including Security, Trust, Assurance, and Risk (STAR) and Consensus Assessment Initiative Questionnaire (CAR).

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Facilitate collaboration among CSA research staff, working groups, and executive leadership.
• Engage with CSA member organizations as a subject matter expert (SME), offering guidance on cybersecurity topics.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, presentations, and research documentation to key stakeholders.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for research meetings to ensure they run smoothly.

3. Thought Leadership

• Represent CSA at industry conferences and events to enhance research visibility and thought leadership.
• Stay current with evolving cybersecurity trends and contribute to forward-looking research strategies.
• Develop insights that align with industry advancements and support CSA's mission to elevate cloud security standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience in cybersecurity, risk management, compliance, or a related industry (e.g., consulting, research, security operations) within high-performing teams.
• Strong ability to engage and manage subject matter experts (SMEs) and professional communities, including both full-time researchers and volunteer contributors.
• Excellent communication skills, including analytical writing, editing, and presentation capabilities, with the ability to interact effectively with C-level executives and senior management.
• Proactive and intellectually curious, with a passion for researching and understanding emerging cybersecurity topics.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time-management and project coordination skills.
• Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to excel in both independent and team-based environments.
• Technically proficient, and familiar with cloud security, industry frameworks, and emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Strong interest in cloud security, governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, NIST, and CSA frameworks is preferred.
