About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Assembly Technician to play a key role in the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of complex electronic systems in the aerospace and defense industry. This individual will be responsible for overseeing in-house assembly and testing operations, ensuring high-quality production, and leading failure analysis activities to resolve technical issues. The Senior Assembly Technician will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electronic assembly and testing, a strong background in quality control processes, and the ability to mentor and guide junior technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed assembly, inspection, and testing of complex electronic assemblies and systems in compliance with industry standards and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues across the entire product lifecycle, from pre-assembly through post-delivery, ensuring high-quality, reliable systems.
  • Lead the planning, setup, and execution of in-house assembly and testing operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop efficient assembly workflows, balancing resource allocation and production schedules.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality control processes and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality production.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance assembly and testing workflows, and drive initiatives to increase operational efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Lead failure analysis activities, investigating root causes of system malfunctions or defects, and provide actionable insights to management for corrective actions.
  • Foster a collaborative learning environment, sharing best practices and technical expertise to elevate team performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience in aerospace and defense industries.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in the assembly, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of complex electronic assemblies and systems, ideally within the aerospace, defense, or a similar highly regulated industry.
  • Proven experience in managing assembly and test operations, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for efficient production.
  • Experience with failure analysis and root cause investigations, including reporting and presenting findings to management.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic assembly processes, including soldering, component placement, and PCB-level testing.
  • Strong proficiency with a range of electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and functional testers.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing quality control processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP).
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to document assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities accurately and comprehensively.
