Responsibilities

Oaktree has created a centralized capital solutions team in 2025 and is seeking a Senior Associate to assist with the management of portfolio company credit facilities across all our funds. The Capital Solutions team is newly formed in 2025 and has the mandate to centralize financing across the firm, with tremendous white space to create a new business within a long-established asset manager. This is a fantastic career track opportunity to join a lean team working directly with senior leadership. It is an opportunity to join a new 4-person team. This person has the option to be based in either the Los Angeles or New York office.

1. Assist with transaction execution & structuring of portfolio company credit facilities:
  • Arranging a combination of private credit, syndicated loan, Term Loan A, high yield debt and revolving credit facilities to support portfolio company purchase, acquisitions and refinancing
  • Arranging and running financing processes for portfolio companies; interface with deal team and management to put together the data room, company model, marketing materials, construction of lender grid and management of various institutions during that process
  • Coordinate with lenders, external counsel and internal teams (accounting, legal, finance, investment teams, tax, KYC) to facilitate transaction documentation and compliance
  • Maintain standard execution processes
  • Monitor facilities after placement and make recommendations on refinancing or repricing as appropriate


2. Build effective working relationships with banks and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as internal contact for fund finance inquiries from portfolio managers, relationship managers, investment professionals, corporate and accounting teams


3. Reporting and Data Management:
  • Prepare presentations and reports for internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring accuracy and clarity
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of a master data base for portfolio company finance facilities and documentation terms
  • Assist with implementation of 3rd party workflow management software
  • Maintain and oversee the wallet share and legal fee tracking database, handling regular and ad hoc reporting requests
  • Liaise with data management, information solutions to automate as much of the work as possible


Qualifications
  • A minimum of 6 years of business experience, which may include a background in investment banking, private credit lending and capital markets
  • Outstanding analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines, while independently driving projects to completion
  • Expertise at reviewing complex financial models
  • The individual must have exceptional financial modeling skills and be very advanced in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI/Python/Database experience is preferred
  • Experience in preparing marketing materials and workflow process for portfolio company financings

Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Base Salary Range

$180,000 - $250,000

In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
