PURPOSE
Responsible for leading the development, implementation, and administration of the corporate employee/retiree benefit plans, including plan design, legal compliance, system functionality, plan enhancements, communication, change management and vendor management.

PURPOSE
Responsible for leading the development, implementation, and administration of the corporate employee/retiree benefit plans, including plan design, legal compliance, system functionality, plan enhancements, communication, change management and vendor management.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for the research, analysis, development, implementation, and administration of health benefit plans. Stays abreast of national and local health plan trends. Reviews legalities, expense, co-worker impact, and makes recommendations to management for major changes after careful research and analysis. Monitors benefit trends in the business environment. Makes recommendations for changes as warranted.
- Responsible for administration of the retirement plans, along with the Benefits Analyst. Reviews legalities and expenses, conducts research and analysis, works with benefits consultants, considers employee impacts, makes recommendations to management regarding plan issues or changes.
- Partners with external Wellness Partner(s) to identify areas of opportunity as it relates to co-worker well-being and presents recommendations for changes to management.
- Working with other internal and external partners, develop and manage the employee benefits communication and change management strategy.
- Responsible for managing third party vendors' performance to service levels and contracts expectations. Works with key contacts to escalate and resolve issues, negotiates pricing and service levels, and approves payment of invoices.
- Partners with HRIS to ensure accurate data feeds to vendors and configurations that may be necessary as a result of benefit plan changes.
- Under the direction of management, monitors regulatory and legal compliance of all co-worker benefit plans and wellness programs, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and annual federal filings and performs necessary activities to fulfill compliance obligations.
EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND
- Demonstrated ability to identify problematic issues, research, and follow through to resolution
- Demonstrated ability to assess business and co-worker needs and make recommendations to meet those needs
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Ability to discuss sensitive issues with employees, combined with empathy and support of the business needs
- Understands the impact of benefits decisions to the corporation and employees
- Strong organization skills to coordinate a variety of responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to prioritize
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products
- Demonstrated proactive and decision-making ability
- More than 5 years' experience in corporate employee benefits, with basic knowledge of other areas of human resources
