WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Senior Brand Manager for Every Man Jack will function as the business owner across assigned categories, leading a cross-functional team. They will be the point person for understanding the consumers in assigned categories, understanding category dynamics, tracking analytical performance to help determine how to drive growth, partnering with Product Development to define our pipeline and our Director of Marketing to develop enduring new product campaigns, and execute impactful GTM strategy and tactics. This role will drive our brand strategy for assigned categories by defining our consumer and customer needs and leading the teams to execute tactics supporting that strategy, in alignment with the Leadership Team. This position will report to the Director of Brand Marketing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

BUSINESS LEADERSHIP
  • Act as thought leader to drive business strategy to meet 3 year plan objectives.
  • Business and P&L leadership across assigned business segments to ensure strong performance of key products and retailers.
  • Monitor and evaluate brand and competitive performance and brand budget against plan and stated goals. Make recommendations on adjusting.

INNOVATION & PRODUCT
  • In partnership with Product Development and support from Brand Director, own execute robust product pipeline strategy, leveraging consumer and customer insights for assigned categories.
  • Support Brand Manager with ongoing product strategy recommendations, based upon consumer, customer, and channel stakeholder needs.
  • Own product marketing across assortment, including innovation and existing items. This includes proposition development, naming, and content development.
  • Cross-functional lead to commercialize new innovation
  • Concept Brief, Packaging & Mechanical specs
  • Campaign Briefs
  • Partner with Sales to share out key product category updates, new innovation, and strategy shifts to recommend pricing and pack strategies, margin mix, trade spending plans, and distribution goals, with associated KPIs.

MARKETING & BRAND
  • Collaborate with the sales team to deliver shopper marketing initiatives.
  • Identify and refine consumer target, shopper needs, and customer opportunities using data and insights.
  • Works closely with the Sales Planning Director to ensure alignment with the sales team.
  • Works across US and Canada.

THE CANDIDATE:

Candidates must be strategic, passionate, organized, and love developing personal care, grooming, or skin care products. This person is highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills. While this candidate loves timelines and getting organized, this person has a remarkable ability to remain calm and flexible in the fast-paced, changing world of product development in a high growth environment. The ideal candidate will be an intelligent team player - someone approachable with a positive, innovative and professional attitude who works smarter, not harder and takes on a "sleeves-rolled-up" and a "can-do" attitude when faced with challenges. A true ambassador for EMJ, both internally and externally. This position reports to the Director of Brand Management.

CAPABILITIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:

Ideal candidate will be a successful brand marketer with 7-9 years in brand and product experience in CPG and/or beauty. MBA preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Ability to quickly take data and information to drive clear business strategies and recommendations.
  • Passionate about consumers and always brings their insights forward in decision making.
  • A true leader, who can confidently and effectively drive a cross functional team.
  • Background in beauty or personal care. Experience with innovation or product development.
  • Knowledge and experience working with mass trade channels (Mass, Grocery, Drug, Natural, Specialty, Ecommerce).
  • Knowledge and experience working with shopper marketing tactics
  • Strong fundamental business skills as well as entrepreneurial agility, mindset, and speed.
  • Ability to quickly turn insights into action. Experience working with syndicated data.
  • A true team player who can work cross functionally to deliver results.
  • Contagious "can do" attitude.
  • Passion for sustainability.

LOCATION: Mill Valley, CA (Hybrid: Mon/Tues/Thurs in Office, Wed/Fri Remote)

HOURS: Full Time, Exempt, Salaried

MANAGER: Director of Brand
