About the role:

Metropolitan Commercial Bank (the "Bank") is offering an opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst reporting to the Manager of the Application and Development Support team. The Senior Business Analyst acts as a liaison between all lines of business, vendors and the Information Technology department with a focus on improving bank system efficiencies through effective project and customer management.

Duties and responsibilities of the job include the following (but is not limited too):

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Acts as a liaison between line of business managers / staff, vendors and Information Technology.
  • Establish close relationship with the Bank's most critical vendors including, but not limited to Fiserv, Verafin, Finzly, ADS or eBankIT.
  • Works with lines of businesses to determine and implement cost effective solutions to help improve business processes.
  • Work with lines of business on their reporting needs, with a goal of employee self-service.
  • Participate and/or lead group development projects. Coordinate with IT and business users, adhere to deadlines, and meet all assigned tasks.
  • Implement innovative changes that improve workflow and productivity. These initiatives should not have to be requested, but self-initiated.
  • Coordinate users'testing and integration testing as needed including defining use cases and test strategy, and performing thorough testing when necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with users and other IT members regarding status, changes, procedure updates, etc.
  • Thoroughly document all procedures and post in shared environment.
  • Cross-train other IT members as needed and be available to be cross-trained.
  • Work with customers and vendors to help resolve complicated system issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and potential impact on the support business.
  • Perform quality work within determined timeframes.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees, departments, divisions, etc.
  • Work on additional tasks, assignments and projects as needed.

Preferred experience, education, and qualifications:

  • 10+ years of overall relevant business experience.
  • 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst in the Banking Industry.
  • Preferred Education/Experience: Master's degree preferred with job experience within banking.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Experience as a developer is a plus.
  • Perform quality work within determined timeframes.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, vendors and shareholders.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees, departments, divisions, etc.
  • Work on ad-hoc tasks, assignments and projects as needed.

Potential Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 annually

This salary range only reflects base wages and does not include benefits, bonus, or incentive pay. Salary bands are purposefully wide ranging to encompass the different factors considered in determining where a candidate falls in the range, including but not limited to, seniority, performance, experience, education, and any other legitimate, non-discriminatory factor permitted by law.
