By shifting customer demand towards more sustainable products, we will incentivize Selling Partners (SPs) to build more sustainable products that support our commitment to preserve the natural world.

The CPF Selling Partner Engagement (SPE) team is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager for China (CN) Sellers who sell into North America (NA). This individual would work with CN-based Sellers to strengthen relationships with key influencers and decision-makers to influence product development roadmaps, highlight environmental impact areas, and amplify storytelling for brands after launch. You will be responsible for evangelizing CPF and building a business case with your Sellers, including leading webcasts, going to local expos in China, and hosting trainings. You will also work cross-functionally with internal Amazon teams, including local CN-based teams, to create a compelling case for selection expansion, for driving adoption of new qualification pathways when launched, pursuing business growth opportunities for CPF selection, and localizing materials for CN-Sellers.

The successful candidate is a self-starter, strong communicator, has a proven track record of meeting and exceeding program goals and targets, and has experience leveraging and coordinating with cross functional teams. Mandarin fluency is a requirement. They need to see the big picture, including how CPF and sustainability fit into SPs overall product portfolio, ensuring that the world's most credible products from trusted brands qualify for CPF.

Key job responsibilities
\tBuild strategic relationships and own negotiations with CN Sellers, influencing executives to adopt shared goals and grow selection in support of CPF's mission
\tIdentify, prospect and secure new opportunities and operate as the primary point of contact for your key Sellers in selection on-boarding, escalations, and negotiations
\tOwn goals to increase CPF penetration in NA for CN Sellers, and assist NA category teams in achieving their CPF penetration targets
\tHelp build internal support for new internal and external initiatives focusing on selection opportunities, business growth and building a strong pipeline of sustainable selection
\tCoordinate across cross-functional teams and categories to identify opportunities for collaboration and streamline SPE initiatives
\tDevelop a thorough understanding of the space, business trends, events, and continually monitoring industry developments and influencing Sellers to adopt higher standards
\tIdentify marketing opportunities to drive sustainability across marketing channels on and off Amazon.com
\tIdentify and on-board strategic Amazon holdouts, targeting brands with the most compelling reputations for sustainable innovation
\tNote: This role requires significant travel to China

A day in the life

As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will work with Sellers and NA category teams to grow their CPF selection. During a typical day you would find yourself calling and texting CN Seller leadership teams, diving into the details of their product roadmap, identifying certification pathways, working towards getting them certified, and building joint sustainability road maps. Additionally, you would localize training and pitch materials for CN Sellers, host live webinars and trainings for Sellers, go to trade shows in China to represent CPF locally. You would meet with Seller and stakeholder teams on expanding selection and finalizing CPF-specific promotion plan for an upcoming event, deep dive into metrics for weekly business reviews, be part of a cross functional and category leadership discussions to align on and track CPF goals among many other initiatives you would be driving to develop and grow CN Seller relationships, increase CPF selection and topline and creating best-in-class sustainable shopping experiences for customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

- 5+ years of professional or military experience

- Bachelor's degree

- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
