Position Description
The Performance & Efficiency Division is a new and innovative concept devised by the Harris County Sheriff's Office. The Performance & Efficiency Division aims to increase public safety through process and data analysis, identification and monitoring of key performance indicators, reduction of barriers to efficiency, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
We seek a versatile and highly skilled professional to fill the hybrid role of Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Systems Administrator II. This role combines expertise in business intelligence, systems analysis, and programming to deliver innovative solutions, streamline processes, and support the organization's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data analytics, application systems, and software development to design, develop, and implement solutions that align with business needs.

This job operates in a professional office environment. Job duties will include supporting administration and operations on the secure side of the detention facilities and will result in contact with inmates. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This role is sedentary, however, the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds is necessary to lift files and/or boxes of files, documents, etc.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department.

- Analyze business processes and requirements to design, develop, and implement BI solutions.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources to build efficient data pipelines.
- Perform data modeling and create databases to support analytical and reporting needs.
- Identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights from data to inform decision-making.
- Responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing recommendations to inform future data analytics projects, such as forecast models, etc.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Evaluate, design, implement, and maintain enterprise application systems.
- Analyze and optimize system workflows, integrations, and performance.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements.
