The Opportunity:
The Senior Buyer will lead and manage the daily tactical procurement operations for an assigned fleet, working closely with the Procurement Lead and Procurement Director to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This position is location in Houston, TX.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities for this position function in a procurement role, those include:
- Assess and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed, aligning with the operational and maintenance requirements of the organization.
- Review and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies, equipment, and services, ensuring timely and accurate procurement.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish partnerships with new and existing suppliers, fostering strong relationships to ensure reliable supply chains.
- Collaborate in weekly RAM (Review and Manage) calls with stakeholders to address and prioritize ongoing operational needs.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aimed at increasing both tactical and strategic savings annually, ensuring continuous improvement in cost-efficiency.
- Analyze procurement data to identify and capitalize on opportunities for cost reduction and value optimization, contributing to yearly savings goals.
- Work collaboratively across different teams to establish cost-saving initiatives and benchmark progress, aligning these initiatives with company-wide financial targets.
Qualifications:
Professional qualifications for this important position include:
- Bachelor's in Purchasing, Business, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
- 10 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role, with at least 4 years in a senior capacity managing complex procurement processes.
- Proficiency in procurement and vendor management software.
- Proven skills in relationship management, effectively working with internal customers, vendors, and employees at all organizational levels.
- Experience in fostering a process improvement culture, demonstrating a proactive approach to streamlining procurement processes, reducing inefficiencies, and driving best practices across the procurement function.
- Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of achieving favorable terms and building partnerships that align with company goals.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, complemented by excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
- Experience leading workshops or training sessions to promote continuous improvement within the procurement team.
