This is a great opportunity at our Northridge location as a Senior Buyer to purchase materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. This individual will work with vendors, evaluate bids, and negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services.
Responsibilities
- ERP (D365) proficiency and understanding of planning systems and how they work as well as relevant transactions.
- Long & Short term MRP Requirements Analysis and Execution
- In case of Co-Mfg Services (OSP), Capacity Planning experience
- Manage against shortages and supports OTIF
- Obsolete management (artwork changes, raw and WIP)
- Safety stock strategy and management
- Expire/Retest support
- ERP - PO Past Due Date and Quanityt Accuracy
- Ensure supply, right time, amount and price, expire/Retest support
- Maintain supplier contact list
- Support the SCAR process
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Requires an MBA Degree.
- 4+ years relevant work experience.
- Working knowledge of theories and practices applied to planning, procurement and inventory.
- Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a clear and professional manner.
- Strong business acumen and an analytical mind. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Intermediate level computer skills that include Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on Excel), ERP Systems, Quality Management Systems, On-line procurement portals and other similar tools.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 2+ yrs experience in a highly regulated industry (pharmaceutical, aerospace, medical device, etc.)
- 1+ yrs experience in Continuous Improvement methodology such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Total Quality Management Systems (TQMS), Yellow Belt/Green Belt.
- ISM Certification in one or more of the following CPSM, APSM.
- APICS/ASCM Certification in one or more of the following: CPIM, CSCP, CLTD.
- Demonstrated understanding typically applied to one or more of the following: supply chain fundamentals, materials management fundamentals, warehouse operations, transportation/logistics fundamentals, and operations and enterprise economics.
