Pinchin is looking for an experienced Senior CAD Designer for producing high-quality technical drawings and plans using CAD software, primarily in support of Mining, Remediation, Civil, Mechanical, and Structural Engineering projects. This role involves close collaboration with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The Senior CAD Designer will also mentor junior designers, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all design deliverables.

Pinchin is looking for an experienced Senior CAD Designer for producing high-quality technical drawings and plans using CAD software, primarily in support of Mining, Remediation, Civil, Mechanical, and Structural Engineering projects. This role involves close collaboration with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The Senior CAD Designer will also mentor junior designers, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all design deliverables.
What You'll Do at Pinchin:
- Develop and prepare plans, sections, and elevations, detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mining, remediation, civil, mechanical, and structural projects.
- Interpret and implement design specifications provided by engineers and project managers.
- Create technical drawings and schematics for engineering projects.
- Manage and oversee the drafting and design aspects of projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs align with project objectives.
- Review and approve drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards.
- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures for all CAD deliverables.
- Conduct thorough reviews of designs and drawings, identifying and correcting errors.
- Ensure that all designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior CAD designers and drafters.
- Lead by example, promoting best practices in CAD design and drafting.
- Assist in the professional development of team members by providing training and feedback.
- Stay current with the latest CAD software developments and industry trends.
- Provide technical support to the design team, troubleshooting software and design issues.
What you bring to Pinchin team
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in CAD design within civil, mechanical, or structural engineering environments.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant CAD software.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and materials. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of designers and drafters.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Products (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Must be able to read, comprehend and prove all written reports and correspondence.
- Must have excellent verbal and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail required.
