Job Duties & Responsibilities
Quantity Survey/Estimating:
- Extensive knowledge of On-Screen Take-off and Quick Bid estimating software.
- Advanced take-off organization and consistency.
- Acceptable speed and accuracy of take-offs.
- Implement checking methods for thoroughness.
- Thorough knowledge of production rates and how these vary by job type.
- Thorough knowledge of material costs and variations caused by time constraints.
- Well versed in drywall specific and industry related construction specifications.
- Developed ability to cost and price non-standard construction details.
- Excels at managing time and abilities to avoid "mad scrambles".
- Develop and understand job specific comprehensive scopes of work.
- Develop, improve, and maintain cross training with the various scopes of work performed by MBS.
- Advanced ability to recap projects (pulling job together).
Sales/Marketing:
- Develop and maintain ongoing branch communications.
- Initiate, build, and maintain new branch relationships.
- Develop and maintain a sense of reliability of your work with others.
- Support corporate goal "Customer is Number One."
- Possesses the skills necessary to offer Value Engineering concepts.
- Secures and understand post bid tabs.
- Be available for pre and post bid support by whatever means necessary.
- Follows up on pending bid projects.
- Keeps track of future work and can develop long-term strategies for improving Marek's odds of securing it.
- Initiate and maintain workload, as necessary.
- Stay in touch with market trends.
Job Qualifications

Skills:
- 4 years experience in commercial drywall estimating.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Proficiency with reading construction plans, specifications, and vendor product data information.
- Familiarity with construction project delivery methods and practices.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Able to work a varied schedule to complete projects and meet deadlines in response to changing demands.
- Able to work in fast paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.
- Able to perform work indoors in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
- Able to travel to branch offices and construction jobsites.
- Able to communicate verbally, in a clear manner.
- Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone.
- Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods of time creating, composing and reviewing documents and spreadsheets.
- Able to operate office equipment, including telephone, mobile phone, fax machine, scanner and calculator.
- Able to access and navigate construction jobsites periodically. This can include climbing stairs and/or ladders.
