Your contribution!

The Senior Commercial and Major Contracts Manager will be responsible to provide cost inputs and guidance for project under development and implement the construction contracts and procurement strategies for project at development stage. The Senior Manager will be negotiating contracts and leading major construction and procurement contracts until execution. The Senior Manager will also ensure the successful implementation of the construction contracts during construction by supporting construction project managers teams and lead the project close out activities.

Your day-to-day!
  • Develop construction and major operations contracting and procurement plan and schedule including establishing milestones, engineering design timing requirements, tracking progress, and working with suppliers and contractors to minimize costs & risk and maximize supply reliability & quality;
  • Lead construction competitive RFP process, develop performance and evaluation criteria, negotiate and award contracts, and evaluate suppliers and contractors' performance during construction;
  • Lead the preparation of major contract documents with support from legal, engineering, construction and operations teams;
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure an efficient response to support development team on pricing input as required in various market;
  • Maintain database of market pricing and trends;
  • Provide input and review to Strategic Planning team for market pricing database;
  • Oversee contract development and ensure that all agreements are signed in a timely manner;
  • Provide construction (CAPEX) & operations (OPEX) inputs and optimization solution to planning team;
  • Support project acquisition processes on procurement, construction and operations strategy, scope and costs;
  • Ensure effective coordination and information sharing within the multi-disciplinary project team;
  • Support, guide and assist construction team during project execution;
  • Manage and coordinate dispute and litigations related activities during project execution or post-construction;
  • Provide guidance to development team and strategic planning team on suitable construction strategies.

Your skills, our requirements!
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy project development and organisation aptitudes and attention to detail;
  • Service-oriented with commitment to working within a multi-disciplinary team environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, self-starter and energetic;
  • Proficient in English and French, both oral and written. Knowledge of Spanish is an asset;
  • Experience in procurement and contract negotiation of wind and solar projects in the United States and/or Canada;
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration;
  • A specialization in wind and solar energy, an asset;
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite (especially Microsoft Projects, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Additional considerations!
  • The position is based in the Company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters. Other Innergex office locations could be considered.
  • This position is a P4 level.
