DLA, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior in Complex Securities Valuation, responsible for executing and delivery of challenging valuation engagements by participating in all aspects of projects, from the initial proposal preparation through project completion.

This role is actively engaged in building valuation models for complex financial instruments including but not limited to: convertible notes, derivatives, SAFEs, absolute TSR, relative TSRs, performance and market awards, restricted stock, options, warrants, contingent considerations, clawback provisions, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Builds valuation models related to a variety of complex financial instruments for financial reporting, tax, and other business purposes
  • Oversees client engagement from beginning to end, including but not limited to, project set up and other administrative items, builds valuation models, communicates, and participates in presentations with the client
  • Must work with mathematical and statistical financial models for valuations of multiple asset classes including complex securities, options, derivatives, earnouts, equity allocations, credit instruments, including, but not limited to, Monte Carlo simulations and Lattice Models
  • Critically reviews model functionality, evaluates, and documents the methodology employed, assumptions used, and conclusions reached
  • Ensures quality controls are adhered to in association with all work products
  • Participates in internal and external client meetings
  • Assists and provides feedback to peers and staff members in the development of project plans and timelines for deliverables
  • Other duties as required


Knowledge & Skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics; Masters or advanced degree is desirable
  • ASA, ABV or CFA preferred
  • 3+ years complex securities valuation experience in professional services (e.g. public accounting and/or management consulting)
  • Experience in building Monte Carlo simulations and lattice models required
  • Strong valuation skills and a working knowledge of complex securities U.S. GAAP
  • Experience using modeling tools such as plug-ins in MS Excel, Oracle Crystal Ball, @Risk, or MATLAB
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills with experience producing and delivering communications to senior leadership
  • Entrepreneurial nature, self-motivated, ethical, and dependable with commitment to quality client service
  • Interpersonal skills to interact in a client-facing team environment
