Description:
In collaboration with the Strategy Department and Leadership, this role is responsible for the development, maintenance, validation and interpretation of system and market data trends. Plays a role in shaping Beacon's data infrastructure, inclusive of data warehousing, reporting, and analytics platforms. Using logical approaches and sound methodologies, mines data in search of innovative business insights and communicates findings to relevant stakeholders. This may include building statistical models and improving the performance models over time. This role also leads data projects in supplying specific data to leadership teams throughout the organization to support analysis for business ventures and clinical improvements. This analytical role supports the goals of the organization by developing supporting dashboards and other mechanisms within Beacon for the purpose of identifying trends and evaluating the success of initiatives.

Leads and supports the development and maintenance of a systemwide strategic and market research data analytics platform(s) and function by:
- Showcasing a key understanding of data structures and business knowledge to ensure veracity of the data presented/produced in the Strategic Business Platform(s). Document and trend processes and improvements to support an accessible, accurate and scalable platform.
- Produce, plan and integrate market, demographic and service line reports to specifically outline strategic growth opportunities.
- Develop, execute and document best practices associated with data population to create an ease of access model and educate end users through materials and facilitation as required.
- Demonstrate a strong customer focus and collaborative relationship with end users. Develop and propose innovative approaches for making data driven decisions.
- Responsible for understanding, incorporating, and synthesizing third-party data to lead project and support end user requests/deliverables.
Supports Beacon's Strategic growth decisions across the organization by:
- Interrupting, developing, adjusting and populating market research reports in an accountable and timely manner for Beacon Health System.
- Providing market reports to support new and ongoing business opportunities.
- Developing thorough and actionable insights into current market trends to drive decisions on system strategic positioning.
- Leads and executes change management activities with regard to data analysis across the system.
- Leads and supports development and ongoing measurement of the system's strategic process through tactic measurement and calculation.
- Leads conversations to utilize data trends to identify innovation opportunities.
Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:
- Provides accurate and effective communication with teams across the organization.
- Identifies and communicates data opportunities and gaps that impact the fulfillment of the system's functional requirements.

- Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
- Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
- Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
- Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
- Complies with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience
- The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Informatics, Database Management, Business, Economics, or a related field. A Master's Degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in data analytics or database management, preferably in a healthcare setting is required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Requires strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Requires exposure to financial analysis, healthcare insurance and contractual language.
- Requires an in-depth expertise in data analysis tools and methodologies.
- Requires the ability to translate data into actionable trends or tactics.
- Ability to confidently use data, expertise and experience to decide and recommend strategic paths and opportunities.
- Demonstrates the interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact and lead effectively with all members of the system and representatives of outside organizations/agencies.
