Description:
The Government of Saskatchewan's Ministry of Government Relations is seeking an energetic, confident individual with strong relationship-building skills, collaboration, communication, analytical, policy and program development, implementation and evaluation skills to join the Aboriginal Consultation Unit team within the Lands and Consultation Branch.
We are seeking a qualified person with knowledge and experience of the government's legal duty to consult to help fulfill the Ministry's role in meeting the goal and objectives of Saskatchewan's First Nations and Mtis Consultation Policy Framework. You will work collaboratively with provincial Ministries, Crowns and agencies, First Nation and Mtis communities, consultants, and other organizations. You will be responsible for providing day-to-day policy advice and implementation support to officials across government and senior management, and administering the First Nations and Mtis Consultation Participation Fund. In addition, the team is responsible for delivering all internal training and external outreach related to the government's duty to consult, which may involve travel to rural and remote Aboriginal communities.
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position will be obtained by the completion of a degree in public policy, social sciences, resource management, or a related field, combined with several years of policy and consultation experience.
