This is a full-time position based in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Job Description:
Ensure compliance with safety requirements and actively promote a positive safety culture.
Prepare monthly financial statements, review and submit quarterly tax returns, and initiate and renew periodic state license registrations.
Create and review General Ledger entries, monitor accounts receivable, and manage vendor payments.
WIP preparation and coordination with Operations during month-end
Coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internally established controls and policies.
Facilitate the completion of periodic audit requests.
Oversee the training, development, and performance of direct reports.
Manage accurate and compliant payroll processing, including associated activities and reports.
Facilitate the creation of forecasts, reports variances, and performance to management.
Requirements
Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant financial experience, including supervisory roles.
College diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field.
Background in construction or project-based accounting preferred.
Advanced proficiency with Excel and Sage.
Strong attention to detail.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant, US) or CPA (Certified Professional Accountant, Canada) preferred.
Ability to work varied and additional hours during closing and budgeting periods.
