Position Summary:
The Sr Cost Accountant will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on costs related to the company's products and services business activity. This role involves preparing cost reports, analyzing variances, and providing insights to help management make informed financial decisions.

Base Compensation: $85,000-$100,000 is the projected annualized salary for this role depending on the candidate's overall qualifications and experience. You may also be eligible to receive bonus and benefits.
Location: This role reports into the Longmont, Colorado office. This person will be eligible for hybrid work over time.

Work Environment/ Physical Requirements:
Works in fast paced office environment. Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of office equipment (phone, computer, etc.). Must be able to sit (70%), walk/ stand (30%), reach, bend, crouch, twist; manual dexterity required for data entry & other tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Speaking and hearing required to communicate internally and over the phone. Vision, depth perception & color vision required to perform essential duties. Working hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to work additional hours from time to time if required.

Position Summary:
The Sr Cost Accountant will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on costs related to the company's products and services business activity. This role involves preparing cost reports, analyzing variances, and providing insights to help management make informed financial decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Play an active role in costing new products.
- Conduct cost review and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Understand operational and production software to ensure the costs are accurately recorded.
- Stock reconciliations and co-ordination of stock takes and cycle counts.
- Analyzing the P&L and balance sheet accounts to understand the main cost drivers of the business.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Calculate, analyze, and record inventory reserves.
- Developing and maintaining accurate records of all costs associated with production, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Support the implementation of cost control measures and systems.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing detailed cost analysis.
- Assist with annual financial audit.
- Assist with other ad hoc reporting and projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of GAAP cost accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with working in an ERP system, Syteline preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to communicate both written and verbally in a professional manner while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Represent the company, internally and externally, in a positive manner.
- Be self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Enjoy building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a cost accountant or similar role.
- 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable or accounting within a manufacturing organization required.
