Description:
We are a largely privately-owned company that owns subsidiaries in the industrial manufacturing machinery industry. Our headquarters is on the East Coast and has been in operation for over a century. We have manufacturing plants nationwide and growing! As our company continues to grow, we are looking to add a Cost Accountant to our team, who will report to the Controller out of our Los Angeles, CA office.

Key Reponsibilities
- Prepare financial and operational documents (balance sheet, income statement, cashflow)
- Create variance cost analysis to support initiatives, identify trends, risks, and areas of improvement
- Participate in standard cost process, cost of goods sold (COGs), and/or bill of materials (BOMs)
- Analyze and extract data to predict variances, metrics, and assess business operations - cost variance, price variance, labor analysis, material variance, and more
- Maintain standard costs, manage inventory valuation, review work-in-process (WIP)
- Create forecasts, budgets, financial reports for internal teams
- Review cycle count adjustments and any discrepancies, by verifying and analyzing account information ensuring inventory discrepancies are addressed and updated in the system
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar field
- 5+ years of professional cost accounting experience
- Understanding of standard cost process, cost of goods sold (COGs), and/or bill of materials (BOMs)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills
- Experience with balance sheets, income statements, cashflow statements, financial statements
- Experience with ensuring accuracy and compliance of account entries, inventory management, handling discrepancies, reconciliations, financial documents, and more
- Proficent in Excel or financial software (SAP, Oracle, Netsuite or similar)
Nice to Have:
- Experience within the manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or similar industry
- CPA license or CMA certified
