ECS is seeking a Senior Cyber Data Scientist/Analyst to work in our Fairfax, VA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
ECS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Data Scientist to support a National Security client. This role will be responsible for analyzing large volumes of security data, developing advanced models, and utilizing machine learning and statistical techniques to identify threats, anomalies, and vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, cybersecurity, and advanced analytics, with a passion for leveraging data to strengthen our organization's security posture. As a Senior Cybersecurity Data Scientist, you will work closely with the cybersecurity team, contributing to the development of proactive security measures and innovative data-driven solutions to mitigate risks.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing machine learning and data mining techniques to analyze large datasets.
Building predictive models to identify potential threats.
Collaborating with other team members to improve cybersecurity analytics.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding in data analysis, data mining techniques, machine learning, and cybersecurity concepts and principles; strong analytical skills; understanding of Cybersecurity Data Sources and Sensoring Technology
Leadership Experience: Experience in leading a team, managing projects, and providing technical guidance to junior team members is crucial.
Communication: Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle security incidents and vulnerabilities.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with other IT teams, stakeholders, and external partners
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science, or a related field is required; OR
Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field can be beneficial and may enhance your qualifications
All the following certifications are desired, but only one certification is required.
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional): Emphasizes technical and managerial knowledge and experience in designing, engineering, and managing an organization's overall security posture across a broad spectrum of cybersecurity domains.
Certified Lead Data Scientist (CLDS): Focuses on advanced data science skills and leadership.
Certified Applied Data Science and AI for Cybersecurity Professionals (CADSAI-CYBER): Bridges the gap between data science, AI, and cybersecurity.
