For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $130,000 and $165,000. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits. This role can be located at either our Livingston, NJ or Trumbull, CT locations.

Responsibilities

In this independent contributor role, you will execute high-impact projects that leverage data to drive business decisions and growth. You will design and implement complex analytical models, develop descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions, and provide strategic insights that influence key business strategies. As a senior team member, you will mentor junior colleagues, collaborate cross-functionally, and lead initiatives to advance the organization's analytical capabilities.

In addition, you are expected to collaborate with CooperSurgical's IT teams to build robust, streamlined data tables and data models which can be used for dataflows to develop self-serving PowerBI dashboards for the sales and marketing teams.

It is expected that you have significant independent execution experience in areas like Incremental Lift Modeling, Market Mix Modeling (MMM), Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) Modeling, Churn Prediction Modeling, Recommendation Systems, Propensity Modeling, Sentiment Analysis, Demand Forecasting, Revenue Forecasting, Dynamic Pricing Models, Price Elasticity Modeling, Conjoint Analysis, etc.

Data Sciences and Predictive Analytics
  • Conduct advanced statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in complex datasets.
  • Develop and deploy predictive models using techniques such as regression analysis, time-series forecasting, and machine learning algorithms
  • Perform feature engineering to enhance model performance and interpretability.
  • Deploy machine learning models into production environments and monitor deployed models for performance, data drift, and accuracy, ensuring reliability and scalability.
  • Perform hypothesis testing, A/B testing, and statistical significance testing to support decision-making.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to assess data quality, discover insights, and prepare data for modeling.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to streamline predictive analytics workflows.
  • Experiment with new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve workflows and outcomes.

Data Management & Preparation
  • Build streamlined data tables and data models which can be used for dataflows to develop self-serving PowerBI dashboards for the sales and marketing teams
  • Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Handle large datasets using tools like SQL, Python, and R.
  • Ensure data integrity and address data quality issues proactively.

Business Insights & Reporting
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Design dashboards and reports (using PowerBI) to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and model performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented strategies based on statistical insights.
  • Communicate findings and insights through compelling visualizations and presentations.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define business problems and translate them into data science objectives.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions.
  • Programming Skills - Python, R
  • Advanced SQL skills including experience working with complex data
  • Experience with ETL processes for data integration. Handling missing data and data inconsistencies.
  • Knowledge of data mining techniques and machine learning algorithms for predictive analytics and pattern recognition.
  • Probability and statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, p-values, confidence intervals).
  • Supervised learning (e.g., regression, classification), Unsupervised learning (e.g., clustering, dimensionality reduction).
  • Model evaluation techniques (e.g., cross-validation, ROC-AUC, precision-recall)
  • Hyperparameter tuning and optimization.
  • Data visualization using PowerBI (Advanced) and Tableau
  • Time series forecasting: ARIMA, SARIMA, Prophet. | Predictive modeling: Logistic regression, random forests, gradient boosting. | Optimization algorithms (e.g., linear programming, gradient descent).
  • Established and managed collaborations in a highly matrixed organization
  • Strong project management experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a sense of urgency and a proven ability to work on multiple projects at any given time.

Experience:
  • 5-10 years, ideally in a similar role in a data-heavy environment

Education:
  • Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is required for consideration.
