Job Summary:

The Senior Administrator-Database will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of our database systems within the Durable Goods Manufacturing sector. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions that support our operational and analytical needs. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Additionally, they will be tasked with developing and enforcing database policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy and compliance. Ultimately, this role is vital for enabling data-driven decision-making and enhancing overall business efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain database systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to optimize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with software developers and IT teams to design and implement database solutions.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions and data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • The required skills in database management and SQL will be utilized daily to ensure the smooth operation of our database systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and performance tuning will enable the candidate to quickly resolve issues and enhance system efficiency.

Work Environment:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual workstation, using telephone and computer


Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
