Senior Database Administrator-3

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to oversee and manage our critical database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DB2 LUW, SQL development, and relational data modeling, with a proven track record in database administration and support. This role requires innovative thinking, flexibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Management: Design, secure, and maintain DB2 LUW databases, ensuring the stability and reliability of critical business information.
• SQL Development: Develop and optimize moderate to complex SQL statements for data migration and ETL processes.
• Application Support: Collaborate with application developers to design, implement, and test database changes, providing recommendations for efficient SQL and indexing.
• Upgrade and Migration: Plan, document, and execute database upgrades and migrations, including strategy development, checklist creation, and fallback procedures.
• Environment Maintenance: Assist in maintaining multiple DB2 LUW environments (Development, QA, Training, Production) and support system patching activities.
• Documentation: Create and manage Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) using Erwin to document database structures and relationships.
• Availability: Be available for work during non-business hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Database Administrator with a focus on SQL development.
• DB2 LUW: At least 3 years of experience with DB2 LUW.
• RHEL: Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) for at least 3 years.
• Data Modeling: Proficiency in relational data modeling and documentation with Erwin (1 year required).
• Office Tools: Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Government Experience: Experience with local, state, or federal government environments is a plus.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Work Ethic: Innovative, energetic, flexible, and eager to learn, with a strong work ethic.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Quest's Toad for DB2 LUW, IBM's DataQuant or QMF.
• Knowledge of Unix shell scripting (ksh, csh, bash, sh) and COBOL.
• Familiarity with DBI Software's Performance Suite for DB2 LUW.
• Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, or Teradata.
• Proficiency in moderate to complex SQL development.

Compensation: $70.00 per hour
