What will you do?

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing power monitoring and control systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system stability, sustainability, and safety. Your expertise will contribute to real-time management of power systems, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.

System Design and Implementation:
  • Design and simulate control strategies for real-time power system management.
  • Develop and deploy control features using Siemens approved Software.
  • Define software and hardware architecture to meet project requirements.
  • Create and revise complex components and assemblies where required.
  • Develop overall system Topology.
  • Develop PLC wiring drawing, support with PLC programming, commissioning and testing.

Collaboration and Integration:
  • Work closely with senior team members, technical leaders, and domain experts.
  • Integrate software platform components & necessary Metering to create a sustainable PMCS system following the guidelines of specifications provided for specific projects and or applications. .
  • Perform verification and validation activities at the component level.

Compliance and Standards:
  • Interpret regulatory standards (e.g., CSA, CUL, IEC, NEC, NEMA) related to power systems.
  • Stay informed about discipline codes, local statutes, and industry guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g., OSHA, National Electrical Code).

What will you need to succeed?
  • A bachelor's degree or a master's degree in electrical engineering, or a related field is essential including instrumentation and controls.
  • Working towards a Eng (Professional Engineer) designation

Technical Expertise & Experience:
  • Strong understanding of power systems: Proficiency in power system analysis, control theory, and real-time monitoring with minimally 8-10 years experience in the field of Data Centers with expertise in Power Monitoring & Controlling including experience with SCADA systems.
  • Software and Hardware Skills: Proficient working with Software and PLC tools programming, wiring, commissioning and testing.
  • Engineering Fundamentals: Skilled in engineering principles, including circuit analysis, electromagnetics, and power electronics.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, product managers, and CAD support staff. Strong organizational & time management is a must.

Teamwork: Ability to work closely with senior engineers, technical leaders, and domain experts.
