Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections of complex turbine parts under minimal supervision using State of the art computer aided inspection techniques
• Establish efficient and cost effective inspection methods and techniques for assigned inspections
• Interface with engineering department to coordinate inspection of parts
• Provide technical support to Integrated Product Development team and all UNEW design and development activities
• Review all designed products for conformance to UNEW standards
• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of various gas turbine components
• Manage all aspects of the design and design improvements of gas turbine parts
• Develop and maintain design substantiation reports
• CAD modeling, patent searches, fit and clearance calculations, and stress calculations
• Prepare and/or edit detailed drawings and completed mechanical drawings and layouts of components and assemblies from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing purposes
• Prepare required inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications in accordance with established ISO17025 procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 8+ years' work experience in Gas Turbine Engineering or equivalent field
• Ability to interpret and analyze technical blueprints for industry engineering specification
• Knowledge of ANSI-Y-14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing
• Gas turbine design experience
• Experience with CAD/CAM software required. NX Software, preferred
• Experience with ATOS Scanning system a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Occasional travel may be required
