Senior Design & Integration Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a Senior Design & Integration Engineer to lead the integration, optimization, and continuous improvement of advanced automation systems at one of the biggest footwear brands in the world. Youll ensure seamless orchestration between WMS, WES, and WCS platforms and material handling systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering (or a related technical discipline) required
• Masters degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in MHE design, automation systems, or industrial engineering within distribution, fulfillment, or manufacturing environments
• 2+ years as a lead designer or technical integrator for large-scale MHE systems.
• Strong understanding of warehouse software ecosystems, includingWMS (e.g. Manhattan), WES, WCS (e.g. Pyramid), and PLC-based control systems.
• Proficiency in simulation tools, AutoCAD, and data analysis platforms (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI).
• Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience influencing operations, IT, and executive stakeholders.
• Proven ability to drive multiple complex projects from concept through execution in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities

System Design & Integration

• Design material handling solutions from business requirements to mechanical systems and integrated software (WMS/WES/WCS).
• Convert operational data into design specs, including throughput and equipment selection.
• Lead automation hardware/software integration and troubleshoot Material Handling Systems (MHS) and WMS.

Engineering Project Leadership

• Oversee projects from design to commissioning, including vendor coordination, technical sign-offs, and post-launch support.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to assess new technologies in line with automation goals.

Systems Enhancement & Continuous Improvement

• Serve as the primary contact for system enhancements, gathering requirements and ensuring alignment with operational goals.
• Develop business cases and review vendor proposals to ensure system standards are met.

Training, SOPs, and Change Management

• Create and maintain SOPs and training materials (including videos).
• Mentor operations teams and drive change management for system upgrades and process standardization.

Business Intelligence & Dashboard Development

• Develop dashboards to visualize key performance metrics and trends.
