Brief Summary of Role:
Senior Design Release Engineer -ElectroMechanical is responsible for leading the development and evaluation of high voltage battery packs, modules, and components for electric vehicles, from concept to production launch. Is the key customer facing battery expert. The Battery Electromechanical Engineer is responsible for the development and release of key electromechanical subsystems of the Battery Pack. Coordinates efforts of mechanical, thermal, BMS and software team members.

Coordinates efforts of mechanical, thermal, BMS and software team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in battery pack/ module mechanical and electro-mechanical product development for electric vehicles or related industries.
- High level of expertise in high voltage Li-ion battery technologies, power switching components, current limiting devices, sensing electronics, and battery management systems.
- Strong proficiency in engineering design and analysis tools to evaluate product performance, including simulations tools for mechanical, electrical and thermal analysis.
Essential Duties:
- Lead the design and development of high voltage battery packs, modules and components for electric vehicles, from concept to production launch.
- Owns the selection, development, and integration of high voltage electrical power distribution components.
- Design and develop high voltage, high current interfaces between mechanical and electromechanical components of battery packs and modules. Execution of high voltage sensing circuitry and terminations.
- Provides technical and industry expertise and guidance to an engineering team
- Serves as a mentor and fosters internal growth as it relates to engineering capabilities within the organization
- Establish and maintain customer communication throughout the development lifecycle for all aspects of the product engineering design and release.
- Work closely with suppliers to select and qualify components, ensuring they meet technical specifications and performance requirements.
- Lead the development of the DFMEA, BOM and all other engineering design critical documents along with maintain design documentation.
- Develop and release 3D and 2D data for components and support supplier sourcing.
- Execute change management process for implementation changes with complete design engineering evaluations.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot product issues during development and production phases.
- Support manufacturing and assembly processes by providing technical expertise and resolving engineering issues related to battery pack production.

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g.CATIA) for 3D modeling and design.
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to high voltage battery systems for electric vehicles
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information to cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and drive results.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality designs that meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering from a four-year college or university.
- Preferred: Master's Degree (M.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or Industrial Engineering.
