Description:

Your Tasks:
  • Responsible for generating and assembling project coordination drawings required to effectively bid, install and commission various types of paint finishing equipment and systems
  • Utilize computer aided design (CAD) systems to create 2D and 3D engineering drawings
  • Interpret schematics to develop complete paint finishing equipment and system designs
  • Produce drawings within agreed upon project schedules with customers
  • Effectively communicate and interact with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers and customers
  • Coordinate document distribution and archiving of drawings and documents
  • Understand, diagnose, and solve real and potential design problems; attend and contribute to design review meetings
  • Coordinate project tasks with other members of the design team
  • Utilize and apply knowledge of AutoCAD, 2D/3D modeling, MicroStation, mechanical layouts/drawings/schematics interpretation, BIM, GD&T, FMEA, SolidWorks, Navisworks, Revit, CarF, automotive systems design techniques, Microsoft Office Suite and CAD to perform assigned duties
  • Lead layout and BIM integration to ensure collision free installation
  • Participate in field measurements activities
  • Provide onsite customer support as needed
  • Interpret mechanical drawings for paint finishing systems and equipment
  • Location: Southfield, MI and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the US
  • Salary: $102,731 per year

Your Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree)
  • Three (3) years in the position above, as a Principal Fabrication Engineer, as a Design Engineer, as a Project/Design Engineer, as a Lead Design Engineer, or in a related occupation
  • Experience must include three (3) years' use of all the following: AutoCAD, 2D/3D modeling, MicroStation, mechanical layouts/drawings/schematics interpretation, BIM, GD&T, FMEA, automotive systems design techniques, Microsoft Office Suite and CAD
  • Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience
