We seek an experienced Senior FPGA and Digital Systems Engineer to join our dynamic R&D engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FPGA design and digital systems, focusing on implementing DSP algorithms and managing system development.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Design, develop, and test FPGA designs for satellite communication and test & measurement applications using Intel FPGA design tools.
- Implement parallelized DSP algorithms in Verilog/VHDL.
- Write C/C++ HW drivers to control FPGA behavior in real time.
- Design and implement microprocessor/microcomputer-based embedded system design, including software.
- Manage system development using a version control system.
- Work closely with system architects, RF/microwave hardware designers, and software engineers to develop industry-leading satcom channel emulation products.'
- Support technical reporting for projects and proposals.
Requirements (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.)
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related subject. MSc preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience and strong proficiency with EDA FPGA synthesis, debugging, and partitioning tools.
- Proficient in Intel (Altera) FPGA design tools (Quartus Prime). Familiarity with Xilinx FPGA design tools is a plus.
- Experience in using JESD204B/C IP and EMIF IP with DDR3/4/5 memories.
- Experience in parallelized DSP algorithm implementations in Verilog/VHDL.
- Experience in FPGA floor-planning, clock domain crossing, and simulation.
- Experience with C/C++ and Python programming languages.
- Understanding of low-power design & verification methodology.
- Hands-on experience with RTL simulation tools.
- In-depth knowledge of communication protocols and industry-standard interfaces such as PCI, PCIe, DDR3/4/5, SPI, I2C, UART, and Ethernet. Experience with VITA49 protocol is a plus.
- Knowledge of digital communications systems and protocols is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
