Senior Director, Government Affairs
The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) is the premier advocacy and policy organization for the world's leading innovation companies. ITI is seeking a Senior Director to join its Government Affairs team. This opportunity is located at ITI's headquarters in Washington, DC. Position Summary:
As the Senior Director of Government Affairs, you will represent ITI before the U.S. Congress and relevant executive branch agencies, with a primary focus on engagement with members of the House and Senate Republican Conferences. In collaboration with the Government Affairs team and ITI member companies, you will develop and implement a strategic, high-impact government relations program. Your work will involve:
  • Strengthening and expanding senior-level relationships across the legislative and executive branches
  • Advancing ITI's policy agenda through legislative and regulatory initiatives
  • Supporting political engagement efforts for ITI and its member companies

Your responsibilities:
  • Lead and support ITI's advocacy on core policy areas, with a strong emphasis on international trade, while contributing to broader legislative priorities
  • Identify emerging policy issues and proactively develop strategic responses on behalf of member companies.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with ITI member companies and their government affairs professionals in Washington, D.C.
  • Engage regularly with key lawmakers-particularly within the House and Senate Republican Conferences-to build political capital and champion industry interests.
  • Represent ITI and its members in coalitions, industry groups, and with external stakeholders to advance aligned interests.
  • Assist in managing ITI's political action and engagement programs.

Your qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. legislative, executive, and regulatory landscape
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, business administration, or a related field required; advanced degree (JD, MA/MS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including service as a legislative or policy aide in a congressional office or committee, or comparable policy role
  • Proven relationships and expertise within the House and/or Senate Republican offices.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly gain fluency in the substantive policy areas important to ITI.

Pay range: $170,000 - 175,000
