JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Merchandising is a strategic leader responsible for driving merchandising excellence and delivering business growth. This role oversees category management, product assortment, and vendor relationships to optimize sales and profitability. Leveraging data-driven insights, market trends, and consumer behaviors, the Senior Director develops and executes merchandising strategies that enhance customer experience and align with company objectives.

Jared Jewelers is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Director of Merchandising to drive category management, assortment strategy, and vendor partnerships to maximize sales and profitability. This leadership role focuses on developing and executing data-driven merchandising plans, identifying market trends, and enhancing the customer experience through innovative merchandising strategies.
This is a Hybrid role and would require the ability to work a mix of on-site and work from home schedules out of the Akron, Ohio or Dallas Texas Support Center.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and implements merchandising strategies, plans, and initiatives to achieve company goals
- Leads category management and assortment strategy to maximize sales and profitability
- Supervises and mentors merchandising teams, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment
- Manages vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, and identifies new vendors
- Utilizes sales data, market research, and trend analytics to inform merchandising decisions and optimize product assortments
- Drives financial results by developing and executing merchandising plans that support key strategic initiatives, launches, top sellers, seasonal campaigns, and trends
- Partners with other departments (e.g., marketing, sales, operations) to ensure alignment and effective execution of merchandising strategies
- Identifies emerging trends and opportunities to stay ahead of the competition and drive innovation in merchandising
- Focuses on creating a positive customer experience through effective merchandising strategies, including visual merchandising, content strategy, and site functionality
- Oversees the development of site metrics and dashboards to monitor site health and performance, providing strategic insights to internal stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, merchandising, business, or a related field
- 8+ years of managerial experience in merchandising or a related field
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives
- Strong negotiation skills for managing vendor relationships and contract terms
- Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively
- Deep understanding of the retail industry and merchandising principles
