POSITION PURPOSE:
This is a full-time, exempt position that will be reporting to the Chief Finance Officer. The Senior Director of Finance will oversee all aspects of project and structured financing activities across Key Capture Energy's portfolio of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the United States. This role will serve as a strategic lead for the origination, structuring, and execution of complex financial transactions - including construction and term debt, tax equity, development facilities, and other structured capital solutions. In addition to project-level capital, the role will actively support corporate-level equity fundraising efforts and manage letters of credit and other credit enhancement instruments required for project development and operational obligations. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, highly skilled finance manager with deep experience in energy infrastructure finance, a broad network of capital providers, and a proven ability to close innovative transactions in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and execute comprehensive capital-raising strategies including construction loans, term debt, back leverage, and tax equity to support the development and operations of energy storage assets.
  • Lead end-to-end financing processes from capital sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, internal approvals, through to documentation and financial close.
  • Execution of due diligence processes, Review project documentation and third-party reports.
  • Coordinate with development, commercial, and accounting teams to forecast development spend and align facility drawdowns, uses of proceeds, and repayment structures accordingly.
  • Negotiate borrower-friendly terms around security packages, development milestones, project substitutions, and collateral release mechanics.
  • Oversee the company's LC portfolio to support interconnection deposits, surety bonds, security posting for power market participation, and development obligations.
  • Evaluate and implement optimal LC strategies, including bilateral LC lines, syndicated facilities, or hybrid structures to ensure efficient collateral utilization.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and executive leadership on corporate equity fundraising, including preparation of materials, investor engagement, and due diligence coordination.
  • Support equity syndication, M&A, and capital partner onboarding efforts related to platform growth, asset monetization, or co-investment models.
  • Prepare financial and strategic analysis to support investor presentations, board meetings, and corporate valuation efforts.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with banks, tax equity investors, infrastructure funds, development capital providers, and corporate investors.
  • Manage the preparation of investor materials, teasers, CIMs, financial models, and data rooms in support of all financing activities.
  • Manage corporate finance compliance requirements including budgets, cash flow forecasts and other quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Lead and manage the project finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • All other duties as required.

WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of progressively senior experience in project finance, structured finance, or investment banking in renewable energy, infrastructure, or power markets.
  • Demonstrated success leading structured capital raises (project finance, development loans, tax equity, corporate equity) and managing complex stakeholder environments.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in finance, economics or related; masters preferred.
  • MBA, CFA or other advanced financial or technical certification preferred.
  • Active network and relationships with tax equity and debt providers in the storage and renewable generation space.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, risk/return analysis, and term sheet/contract review.
  • Familiarity with BESS revenue streams, RTO/ISO market mechanics, and merchant/project hybrid business models.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the financial, legal, and internal approval process to successfully close transactions.
  • Strong communication skills with proven track record in building relationships and working in cross- functional collaborative teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving dynamic, environment.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a small team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Knowledge of and experience with energy storage technologies a plus.
