Novant Health Urgent Cares is currently seeking a Senior Director of Occupational Health and Laboratory Compliance to join our team. The Senior Director of Occupational Health and Laboratory Compliance will be responsible for leading and enhancing occupational health and compliance programs across our network of urgent care clinics. This position requires a highly skilled leader with a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management, health standards, and the unique challenges of urgent care environments. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in managing occupational health services, fostering compliance, and leading multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Essential Functions:
Occupational Health Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of occupational health and laboratory compliance programs across urgent care clinics.
- Develop strategic initiatives to improve workplace health standards and ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a cross-functional team, including health professionals and operational managers.
- Promote a culture of health and compliance through continuous education and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing occupational health and healthcare operations.
- Monitor regulatory changes and communicate necessary adjustments to operational practices.
- Oversee audits, inspections, and assessments to maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure employee health screenings, vaccinations, training programs, and laboratory procedures are compliant with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Work with the sales team to provide expertise on occupational health services to client companies.
- Identify potential risks to operations and lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Report on the status of compliance efforts and emerging risks to executive leadership.
- Lead the evaluation and enhancement of occupational health and compliance programs based on performance metrics and audits.
Laboratory Compliance Responsibilities:
- Oversee laboratory compliance programs, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure all laboratory processes, including specimen collection and testing, meet regulatory standards.
- Monitor laboratory licenses and certifications, ensuring timely renewals.
- Conduct regular laboratory audits and inspections to identify compliance gaps.
- Ensure accurate documentation of laboratory testing and quality control reports.
- Collaborate with laboratory teams to address compliance deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust laboratory practices as needed.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and safety of laboratory equipment.
- Provide training on regulatory compliance and quality control to laboratory staff.
- Develop and enforce laboratory-specific policies and procedures to maintain testing integrity.
Do You Have What It Takes?
A good candidate will bring with them:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- General knowledge of medical ethics and confidentiality
- Computer skills
- Required to travel throughout assigned region to conduct training
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license and acceptable driving record
An ideal candidate would also have:
- Completion of a post-secondary program
- 2 years of experience as an educator
- knowledge of basic medical terminology
