Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs - Mostly Remote
Work Arrangement: Mostly Remote - This is a mostly remote role with limited onsite requirements, including quarterly board meetings (1 day each) and a biennial December audit (up to 2 weeks). Total NYC onsite commitment is approximately 4-6 days per year, plus the audit every other year.
Salary: Up to $205,000 with excellent benefits, including a pension plan.

Position Overview:
As the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs, you will lead a team of regulatory professionals to navigate and adapt to an evolving regulatory landscape. With significant autonomy, the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs will oversee the Regulatory Affairs unit, ensuring compliance across all products and spearheading critical initiatives for executive leadership.

Key Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team analyzing new regulatory requirements, ensuring clarity on their impact and obligations.
  • Oversee the dissemination of regulatory updates across the organization to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze and interpret complex state and federal regulations, providing actionable insights to internal teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, clarifying and communicating evolving regulatory standards.
  • Enhance communication processes to improve awareness of legislative and regulatory changes.
  • Establish protocols for implementing new rules and requirements, including service and population carve-ins for insurance products.
  • Partner with compliance teams to prepare for audits and surveys, including NYS Department of Health Article 44 program audits.
  • Coordinate with internal divisions (sales, operations, product, pharmacy, government affairs, and legal) and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with government relations teams to anticipate regulatory trends and develop advocacy strategies.
  • Cultivate relationships with business leaders, regulators, and trade associations to promote compliance and strategic alignment.
  • Drive team engagement and professional development to address complex regulatory challenges effectively.

Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience with Medicare and Medicaid laws/regulations, including senior-level roles in managed care compliance or regulatory departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of health law, managed care operations, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across internal and external business groups.

Skills:
  • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate and address regulatory trends.
  • Expertise in healthcare administration, compliance standards, and operational workflows.
