POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Sales for Data Center Professional Services leads and manages sales strategy, growth, and profitability within this specialized sector of the company's Professional Services Organization. This role focuses on developing and executing sales plans, building strong customer and partner relationships, and driving revenue through consulting, engineering, and managed services solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement go-to-market strategies for data center professional services for greenfield and brownfield client opportunities.
- Develops and administers sales plan to ensure customer satisfaction, assigned quota attainment, and highly skilled and motivated staff.
- Achieves annual sales and gross profit plan by implementing sales strategies and analyzing trends and results in conjunction with regional and business unit management team.
- Establishes sales objectives.
- Forecasts expected sales volume and profit for existing and new product lines and customers.
- Ensures establishment and expansion of national, regional, and local supplier relationships.
- Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with market supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
- Coordinates order service by directing account representatives on quotations, proposals, project order management techniques, and customer complaint resolution.
- Maintains sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains sales staff results by counseling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new opportunities and expanding the existing client base, upselling data center services.
- Oversee sales planning to ensure customer satisfaction, quota attainment, and team development.
- Build relationships with key enterprise clients, technology partners, and service providers.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing sales team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in data center infrastructure and services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of professional sales experience in data center solutions, professional services, or related industries.
- 7+ years of leadership experience managing sales teams and programs at a regional or national managing revenue above $150M or other significant complexities+ within assigned locations.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, cloud computing, and managed services.
- Proven ability to develop and execute complex sales strategies to achieve business goals.
- In-depth knowledge of the distribution industry, related solutions, and products.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, initiate and implement sales strategies to achieve forecasted goals.
- Ability to present professional sales approach to help people achieve personal and positional goals.
- Proven success in providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise teamwork, leadership and flexibility.
- Excellent time management and computer skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center clients.
