Position Description

Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates and aligns with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Values Based Culture and supports Service Plus Philosophy of TTUHSC.
  • Provides supervision and management of Mental Health Clinician's (MHC's) and Senior directors in inpatient services at the Montford Unit.
  • Evaluates clinical/work performance of inpatient MHC's and ensures compliance with related state, local and departmental policies such as American Correctional Association (ACA), Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), and TTUHSC.
  • Ensure communication channels between team and leadership remain open and effective.
  • Exercises caution and is mindful of risk management ramifications while providing services and supervising clinicians.
  • Provides team opportunities for continuous professional development and to ensure that the outpatient team maintains and builds a competent workforce to meet the ever-changing demands of the environment.

Pay Statement

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred; Six years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education beyond Bachelor's may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
