Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000 per year

GENERAL SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience developing hardware for electro-mechanical devices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
- At least 5 years of industry experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Design, build and test mixed analog and digital custom circuit boards and cable harness.
- Proficient with motor control, embedded microcontroller, and power supply designs
- Comfortable working on both NPD and sustaining projects.
- Familiar with PCB design stack up, and supervision of layout and techniques to improve EMI/EMC.
- Experience working with external PCB contract manufacturing.
- Lab skills: familiar with test equipment - e.g., oscilloscope and multimeter (hands on work required).
- Proficient with board bring up , troubleshooting skills and test.
- Proficient with communication protocols - Ethernet, I2C, SPI, etc.
- Creative thinking, problem solving and innovation skills.
- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of target user and market.
Preferred Education
- MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
Preferred Experience
- Microprocessor controlled systems experience
- Altium schematic software
- Electro-mechanical design
- Hardware Design for BLDC and stepper Motors
- FPGA skills
- User Interface, Display technologies
- Power supplies
- Experience with development of medical devices in accordance with IEC 60601 and FDA regulatory requirements.
- Familiar with all levels of documentation associated with new product development.
- Excellent attention to detail and project management skills.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- FMEA skills
- Familiar with wireless protocols
- Experience with building turnkey prototype boards and off-the-shelf test fixtures
Physical Demands
- Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
- Typically, employees sit comfortably to do their work, interspersed by brief periods of standing, walking, bending, carrying papers and books, and extensive periods requiring the use of computer terminals to accomplish work objectives.
- Required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard.
- Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.
Working Conditions
- Predominantly operates in an office environment. Some work (less than 5%) requires moving and lifting of heavy networking equipment.
- Will work in an Engineering Lab based environment.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Each Employee consistently demonstrates the following essential functions:
- Support all elements of design and development of electro-mechanical medical device electrical systems.
- Support and lead in the creation, start-up, testing & validation of high-performance printed circuit boards.
- Perform hands-on debugging of hardware-software systems when bugs and/or malfunctions occur.
- Interface with a cross-functional team of engineers, project management, and Marketing
- Proficiency in CAD tools for schematics and PCB layout
- Work with supply chain partners for design for manufacturability and test
- Identifying deficiencies in electrical processes and developing improvements
- Designing and developing and testing prototypes
- Perform assigned work independently and maintain a sense of urgency and ownership.
- Preparing documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence
- Ensures all department compliance guidelines are met
- Attends all meetings, in-services training, or continuing education as delegated by the supervisor
- Provides customer focused interactions
- Performs all duties necessary for the department as per department policies and procedures
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor within the scope of practice and the responsibilities in the department
