Serves as a technical expert for electronic, embedded firmware and electromechanical systems for medical devices. Key activities for this role involve supporting new medical product development, sustaining existing products, customer support, intellectual property creation and competitive analysis. This individual brings expert level knowledge extensive real-world experience, and strong project management expertise to lead product definition, system architecture, detailed electronic system design, testing and simulation, risk analysis, and design evaluation efforts with a primary focus on electrical and electrical-mechanical medical devices. This individual engages with cross-functional teams across Bioventus as well as with vendors and customers.
Compensation range: $110,000-$135,000

Hybrid office based role
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the entire product development process in a cross-functional team for medical devices in a regulated design controls environment.
- Responsible for design, implementation, and verification testing of medical devices.
- Design of digital, and analog circuits, and PCBAs.
- Interface with PCB, PCBA and medical device manufacturers.
- Hands on with test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers
- Support exiting commercial products with manufacturing, supplies and field issues.
- Authors technical reports, invention disclosures, and production drawings.
- Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree in electrical or biomedical engineering, minimum of 5 years of experience related to medical devices.
- Strong electronics design experience.
- Strong experience with at least two programming languages: Assembly, C, C++, C#, .NET, Fortran, VB, Perl, PHP, Python, R, TCL, Java, JavaScript, Objective-C, MatLab, VHDL.
- Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to inform, engage, and influence stakeholders.
- Expertise in medical device regulations and standards including IEC60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, IEC62133, IEC62304, and ISO14971.
