Please see coldsnap.com The Role: We are seeking a full-time Senior Embedded IoT Software Engineer to join our growing team at our facility in Billerica, MA. We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable taking risks, solving problems, offering design direction, and leading the team to find solutions. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Design firmware and hardware systems that make ice cream in 60 seconds and sends that data to the cloud Embedded C/C++ & Python programming Design and develop IoT device firmware, IoT device data model, and secure device / cloud communications features Embedded board bring-up, and debug Support and transfer of new products from engineering to manufacturing teams in Asia Collaborate effectively with the electrical and mechanical engineering teams Participate in technical design reviews to assess project status and design readiness Document and present results and insights through formal reports and reviews Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline 5+ years of professional experience Experience coding in C/C++, particularly at low level Strong Object-Oriented design skills and experience applying them to embedded development Demonstrable experience with IoT security fundamentals and the MQTT protocol Demonstrable experience with networking communications standards and protocols such as DHCP, NTP, MQTT, TCP/IP, TLS/SSL, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi Experience with cellular modem communications preferred Experience with cloud IoT services such as Amazon AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, or similar IoT cloud services
Experience developing IoT cloud services using AWS or Azure a plus Experience developing cloud hosted databases using AWS or Azure a plus Experience with Real Time Operating Systems such as FreeRTOS Experience writing, testing, and debugging low-level application, driver, and boot code in an embedded device Exposure to QR scanning/decoding a plus Experience with Agile software development processes and GIT version control tools Test and measurement experience with DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment Ability to learn new technologies quickly Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment and handle competing priorities Self-motivated and results oriented with a demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and within a team Job Requirement Specifications:
