Senior Engineer - Testing

Job Description

As part of the Simulation Tools team, you are expected to fulfill most of the following tasks based on your assigned projects:

• Understand the call model requirements given by customers and translate them into performance / load testing.
• Work closely with vendor tools team and communicate the customer requirements to get test scripts.
• Validate the tool scripts from vendor across respective network and deliver it to customer.
• Admin support for all the delivered scripts and maintenance as required.
• Lead the projects on the technical side, including timeline definition and follow up.
• Design solutions for new projects: hosting on the cloud/physically, connectivity design and configuration scoping.
• Perform testing in the lab and production lineups, including services and regression testing using simulation tools.
• Invest your communication skills with the customer and the vendor to move your project forward and highlight showstoppers and delays in a timely manner.
• Review the vendors' offers, assess their potential, and decide on the best one based on their technical knowledge.
• Develop and deliver POCs and follow up with the different entities to solve all the technical and organizational binding concerns.
• Coordinate closely with the vendor to ensure the readiness for the instantiation (templates-images), configuration (application and services), testing to onboard tools / NF's on Cloud platform.
• Collect customer requirements and translate technical and business customer requirements into implementation specifications.
• Coordinate and lead troubleshooting sessions to solve problems, perform corresponding analyses with paths to find the root causes and propose improvements.
• Operation support for solving critical problems related to services or customers.
• Assist in maintenance windows, sometimes during the low traffic hours as per customer's request.
• Envision the future network improvements, design, and communicate your plan to higher management.

Technical Skills

We are looking for a Senior Engineer - Testing with +10 years of experience that covers:

• Strong experience working as a solution architect in PS Core working in 3G, 4G, 5G and IMS architectures.
• Good understanding of the different call flows such as VoLTE, VONR, VoWiFi, etc.
• Hands on experience working with multiple 5G network functions, with emphasis on AMF, SMF and UPF.
• Good knowledge on different protocols and 5G SA interfaces, such as N2, N5, N26 etc.
• Understanding of the virtualization and containerization concepts, VMWare environment management, namely creating templates, deploying VMs, assigning networks and data stores, etc.
• Hands on experience with simulation tools like landlside and loadcore.
• Experience working with packet captures on E2E nodes and troubleshooting issues.
• Good understanding of the different IPv4/IPv6 internet protocols such as HTTP/S, UDP, TCP, ICMP, DHCP, DNS, etc.
• Woking proficiency on virtualization and containerization is a plus.
• Hands on experience with Kubernetes orchestration.
