Job Description and Summary:
RCMT Energy Services is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Engineer for High Voltage Substation to join its team in Mississauga, ON Canada.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of engineering and design of high voltage substations with minimal guidance from other experienced engineers and must be both willing and able to provide guidance to other engineers and designers.
Projects may include travel to client sites as needed to perform job functions at existing facilities such as, but not limited to, acquiring field data necessary to prepare design.

Projects may include travel to client sites as needed to perform job functions at existing facilities such as, but not limited to, acquiring field data necessary to prepare design.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering overview, expertise and directions for Physical Substation design (AIS/GIS) including layouts, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways and associated bills of materials.
- Preparation of engineering studies and reports (grounding, lightning protection, battery and battery charger, transformer capacity rating, underground power cable ampacity, mechanical load calculation/bus stress analysis, circuit analysis such as voltage drop and cable sizing calculation, insulation coordination studies, etc.)
- Assist assigned engineers and designers in the resolution of technical engineering and design challenges.
- Interpret and respond to technical inquiries from coworkers, clients, vendors and obtain information from field visits.
- Prepare Equipment Technical Specifications for procurement.
- Project planning, monitoring and controlling.
- Perform quality reviews of engineering deliverables.
- Facilitate and/or participate in project coordination with the mechanical, civil/structural and architectural disciplines.
- Must have a bachelor's degree (BS or BE) in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
- Must have a P.Eng. License in Canada.
- 10(+) years of directly related technical experience in Engineering and Design of High Voltage Substations.
- Highly proficient in the use of engineering analysis software such as ETAP, CEDEGS and/ or similar applications.
- Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Office software products.
- Basic knowledge of CADD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, and MicroStation and their related products)
- Must demonstrate ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and apply individual judgment, initiative and decision making.
- The candidate must have a strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with clients, equipment vendors and construction contractors.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, work well under pressure, and respond rapidly to changing demands.
- Results oriented and takes ownership of assigned tasks, strong multi-tasker and team player.
- Must have the ability to be flexible and work with competing priorities.
- To be Canadian Permanent Resident or to hold a valid work permit for work in Canada.
