As Senior Engineer, Optical Test, you will be responsible for the characterization pipeline of light control metasurfaces (LCMs). Activities include development, maintenance, and validation of test stations as well as data collection and data analysis.

$85,000 - $100,000 a year
Base pay is scaled depending on experience + Performance based Quarterly Bonus + Equity.

Job Description:
As Senior Engineer, Optical Test, you will be responsible for the characterization pipeline of light control metasurfaces (LCMs). Activities include development, maintenance, and validation of test stations as well as data collection and data analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and extend Python characterization scripts / programs for automated R&D / production testing of optical metasurfaces.
- Define and perform QA routines to validate characterization stations.
- Collaborate with a small team in a fast-paced environment to continuously expand testing capability and inform production of future metasurface generations.
- Support proof-of-concept LCM-based LIDAR system prototyping.
- Systematically document test results and testing procedures.
- Present data, methods, and conclusions to the technical and leadership team.
- Participate in code review process.
Qualifications:
- University degree (BS or higher, MS preferred) in Optical Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum two years of experience for BS, none for MS.
- Solid Python fundamentals related to hardware control, data analysis, and database interfacing.
- Experience prototyping optomechanical systems.
- Experience working in an optical lab environment on alignment and/or characterization (working with photodetectors, lasers, oscilloscopes)
- Experience using optical /mechanical modeling tools like Zemax / Solidworks.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
