Description:
Job duties may include: management and development of new projects once data collection, research and analysis are executed; active research to design new projects and to prepare and present new ideas to improve current processes which impact the business; researching, collecting, and analysing data for the strategic decision-making process in new project developments.
Education/Experience: Bachelor Degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Possesses five to seven years of experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload:
-Structural engineering lead, managing multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from critical large-scale projects to smaller, complex ones.
-Oversee the assessment, development, and execution of substation capital projects that significantly impact both financial and operational aspects.
-Lead civil/structural engineering analysis, calculations, design, detailing, and CAD-supported drafting for SCE facilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to reviewing and stamping drawings, structural analysis, foundation design, structural member design, building design, and evaluation of new and existing facilities.
-Mentor junior engineers, provide structural engineering expertise and technical leadership, and conduct technical training sessions for colleagues and business partners to enhance organizational capabilities.
-Define structural engineering requirements, schedules, and deliverables; execute activities; and provide recommendations, reports, and status updates to project management and construction team.
-Perform site visits to provide construction support and conduct inspections, while gathering data, performing engineering analysis, and preparing calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
-Oversee design contractors to ensure quality and adherence to construction schedules, budgets, and project requirements, while providing support to field personnel, stakeholders, and customers.
-Collaborate with clients, business partners, construction teams, operations, peer disciplines, design contractors, permitting authorities, and management.
-Travel throughout SCE's service territory to provide necessary engineering services.
-Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by management.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity
Required Skills/Attributes:
Minimum 5 years of civil/structural engineering experience
California PE License
Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Desired Skills/Attributes:
-Experience working with a variety of Civil/Structural Engineering principles, codes, and standards, including ASCE 7, ACI 318, CBC, AISC 360, NDS IEEE 693, ASCE 113, etc.
-Experience working with a variety of Civil/Structural Engineering software(s), ie RISSA 3D, MathCAD, EnerCalc, SAP 2000
-At least three (3) years of experience modifying engineering drawings using computer aided drafting.
-Demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to gather and analyze information, present technical recommendations, and effectively collaborate with clients and peers to achieve high performance standards and mutually acceptable outcomes.
-Proficient with Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD or other computer-based design programs.
