The starting annual salary for this position is $86,854 - $97,800 ($41.57 - $47.02 per hour); this is an exempt position This position is also eligible for annual economic adjustments and performance-based adjustments, as approved by the City Council.

In this pivotal role within the Department of Public Works - Engineering team, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing or supervising contractual preparation of bid documents, engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, feasibility reports, and documentation of public works projects, including stormwater management and transportation.
- Leading professional design and construction teams, including internal and external engineers, technicians, and consultants, to develop and deliver complex and consequential public works infrastructure projects.
- Project management, including contract administration, quantity documentation, budgeting, estimating, scheduling, reviewing contract proposals, and recommending contract awards.
- Reviewing private development projects to maintain compliance with federal, state, and city regulations, statutes, and ordinances regarding public improvement projects, stormwater management, and transportation projects.
- Supporting CoJ's economic development initiatives through planning, study, design, and implementation of public infrastructure to facilitate residential, commercial, and industrial development.

Minimum Position Requirements/Qualifications
What qualifications are necessary for the role?
To be successful and well prepared for this position, the minimum education and experience required includes:
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, biological systems engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering project management, planning, and designs.
- Registered as a professional engineer in the State of Wisconsin or ability to obtain licensure reciprocity within three (3) months of hire or promotion or Certification in Stormwater Management through the American Public Works Association.
- A valid, state-issued driver's license at time of hire is required

- Vacation: You will receive a prorated amount of 15 days - based upon the number of full months work to year end. On January 1 of the following year, you will receive the full 15 days.

- Exempt Days: As an exempt employee, you have the potential to earn up to 3 extra days off per year, subject to City Manager approval.
- Holidays: CoJ is closed for eight (8) holidays each year.
