Position Overview:
Manage security and develop methodologies and implementation strategies for integrated information security solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage security for more than one functional area (e.g., data, systems, network and/or web, vendors, training ).
Design conceptual architecture of security related technologies and systems.
Enforce security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security profiles, reviewing security violation reports and investigating possible security exceptions; update and maintain documented security controls.
Perform and analyse threat risk assessments and vulnerability assessments both on a project basis as well as with legacy systems; work with responsible support areas to ensure mitigation of risks.
Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
Develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures.
Work independently or on multiple IT security initiatives as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader.
Work on small to large, complex security issues or projects that require increased skill in multiple IT functional areas.
Prepare status reports and keep management informed on information security issues.
Develops security communication, awareness and training for audiences, which may range from senior leaders to field staff.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Degree in Information Technology
Approximately 5 years of combined IT and security work experience with a substantial exposure to systems analysis, applications design, development and administration.
The following certification is an asset: CISA, CISSP, Security+, CRISC or similar
Expert knowledge of security issues, tools, practices and procedures
Good analytical skills with problem solving ability
Good planning and organizational skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented
