Summary:

DMC is currently looking for a Senior Estimator to join our team on a fulltime basis, based in either Sudbury or Vaughan ON. Reporting to the Director of Estimating, the Senior Estimator formulates budgets, proposals, methodologies, and conceptual estimates for various construction, engineering, and mining projects.

Responsibilities:
Review bid documents, understand client requirements, and define project methodologies.
Establish and manage estimate preparation and schedules, ensuring on-time submittals.
Perform first-principles calculations to produce project productivities, equipment, and manpower requirements.
Estimate capital, rental, and operating costs.
Estimate capital and operating costs, from the first principles.
Schedule estimate projects and resources.
Write detailed methodologies to be included with proposal documents.
Prepare monthly and daily production schedules.
Provide cash flow projections to generate net present values, rates of return, and paybacks.
Provide labor, plant, and equipment utilization graphs.
Prepare and maintain tender documents, including contract language.
Conduct feasibility studies.
Baseline budget preparation to support field cost management.
Establish and implement cost control activities.
Conduct site visits as required.
Produce documentation for economic appraisals of acquisitions or new mine projects.
Performance analysis for tasks within the mining cycle.
Liaise with industry suppliers to maintain a current price database.
Draw, sketch, and draft drawings as required.
Support project from start-up to completion as required.
Monitor project progress and issue cost reports, as required.
Advise and facilitate management bid reviews.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:
Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Mine Engineering or related discipline.
10 years of related experience estimating mine development projects.
Experience with construction estimating.
Experience with Hard Dollar Estimate and P6 Scheduling.
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Exceptional time management skills.
Advance level knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Project, and Adobe.
Ability to work within tight deadlines.
Strong organization skills with a proactive approach.
