This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and providing detailed bids to support the company's growth and success in competitive markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating process for various construction projects including commercial, municipal, and retail sectors.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bids based on project specifications and requirements.
- Conduct takeoffs to determine material and labor costs necessary for project completion.
- Collaborate with project managers and teams to assess project scope and requirements.
- Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process to clarify project details and specifications.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and staff.
- Participate in project reviews and post-bid evaluations to enhance future estimating practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator or PM
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes and methods.
- Experience with commercial, municipal, and retail projects.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
